English Dub Review: Why Raeliana Ended Up at the Duke’s Mansion “Why Raeliana Made a Contract”

Overview (Spoilers Below):
Raeliana moves to the Wynknight mansion so she and Noah can be officially engaged. She used her knowledge of Noah’s possession of the royal seal to convince him to make the deal with her, but Noah seems unfazed, making her wonder if he’ll really accept.

Our Take:
Raeliana has escaped Brooks’s clutches thanks to the deal she’s making with Noah Wynknight. However, there’s still more work to be done if she wants to escape her doomed fate. First, she’ll have to make the deal official by creating a contract for Noah to sign, having him masquerade as her fiancé until her engagement with Brooks ends. But, of course, this was proven to be a bit more challenging than she thought despite her knowledge of the novel and Noah’s family history. Nonetheless, she prevailed, and she’s now moved into the Wynknight mansion.
The episode’s first half is a back-and-forth conversation between Raeliana and Noah after she tells her parents about her new engagement. We see Raeliana use her studies about the novel and Noah himself to convince the duke to sign the contract she created. She knows about Noah possessing the family’s royal seal, which the heroine discovered in the novel, and figures out the address of his parents’ graveyard. Unfortunately, the duke doesn’t seem concerned with her knowledge until she points out the chess pieces being out of place, representing the rivalry between the royal families.
The second half then introduces us to Adam Taylor, a new character joining the series. Taylor is the knight of the Wynknight mansion who’s taken in as an observer after serving as a child soldier. Noah hired him to watch over Raeliana, although he doesn’t seem very talkative. Maybe that will change in the later episodes when we learn more about this mysterious knight. Despite him also being rumored as the “God of Death”, Taylor is seen as a generous person as she helped get Rose’s balloon out of the tree. By the way, Rose is another definition of “cuteness overload”.
With Raeliana officially “engaged” to Noah, we can now assume that the series will only get more enticing as it progresses. Its amount of exposition and tranquil dialogue-driven scenes may not impress everyone who isn’t into these types of shows. However, this is another series that actually got me engaged in the conversations, mainly due to Raeliana’s cunning personality and Lindsay Seidel’s vocal performance. It’ll be interesting to see how long this deal will last, especially since Brooks might be scheming to kill her behind her back.
