English Dub Review: Trigun Stampede “To a New World”

Overview:

Caught in Knives’ trap, Vash is dropped into a giant pool. There, Knives attacks the precious memories that helped Vash maintain his love towards humanity. While Vash and Knives clash in this metaphysical realm, Meryl witnesses astonishing physical manifestations.

Our Take:

As I’ve stated before this is my first experience with Trigun (though I do think I might watch the older series now) so I have no idea what to expect. I’ve heard this is a prequel but I’ve also heard this is a reimagining of the series. I’ve also heard that this is like a “Brotherhood” version of the series that is supposed to be more faithful to the manga. What I do know is that this has been a fun and beautiful ride and I hope we get more.

Meryl is desperate to reach Vash and I’m sure he would love for her too. He is not having a good time let me tell you because Knives isn’t giving him any time to rest. He relentlessly attacks his memories in an attempt to turn Vash against humanity. I know that Knives hasn’t been in this series all that much but Austin Tindle has put in one of his best performances. I can’t wait to see how this ends.
