English Dub Review: The Legendary Hero is Dead! “The Legendary Hero Impostor”

Overview:

The new hero’s party heads out on a devil-hunting quest, but questions arise about the new companion Kyle’s motivations.

Our Take:

You know you might be in for an interesting hero when he bonds with a devil and thinks of him as a brother. All because he has the same love of looking at women’s thighs as you do. I can’t say it’s the worst reason to be friends with a devil but it’s definitely not the most heroic of things to do. Touka had not been the best of heroes for me so far but perhaps that will change with time. This is a fairly cut-and-dry story with a unique wrinkle so the characters will be paramount for this one to succeed in my opinion, which they aren’t doing yet.

The animation is okay but it’s fairly average not that is inherently a bad thing. I may not like the character of Touka too much but I do love Ricco Fajardo as Touka. How he delivers some of the dumb and hilarious lines Touka spouts is fantastic.

I feel most of you that enjoy anime are familiar with the “three episodes” rule. That is where you give an anime three episodes to hook you and that’s it. Well, we’re two done and I can’t say I would be hooked if I wasn’t getting paid to analyze it. We will see where we stand next week.

Score: 5/10
