English Dub Review: The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel – Northern War “The Divine Knight Arrives at the Gray”

Overview:

The Empire crosses the border and begins its invasion of North Ambria, which focuses its defenses around Haliask and decides to fight an all-out defensive battle. Lavi, convinced of the presence of manipulators behind the scenes, heads to the palace to talk to Rogan.

Our Take”

We finally have some returning voice talent. Robbie Daymond is back as Lloyd Bannings, Johnny Yong Bosch is back as Joshua Bright and Stephanie Sheh reprise her role as Estelle Bright (or as I call her Bestelle). After all the disappointment of not having anyone return it was nice to finally get some of the gang back together.

This episode had things heating up in North Ambria, with Haliask having poisoned water and Rogan not knowing how to deal with the Archaism which was attacking civilians. It looks like the battle for the country is starting to heat up and with only one episode left it’s about time! I was looking forward to this show but other than some fun cameos and easter eggs there wasn’t much to enjoy. I suppose that could all change with the final episode which will see Lavi confronting Rean but I don’t think one good episode can fix a whole season.
