English Dub Review: The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague “Catch Me & Touch Me”

Overview (Spoilers Below):
Himuro-kun makes his move to pursue a cohabitation he’s always longed for…

Our Take:
Himuro is leaving out some extra space in his apartment for his guest. However, it isn’t what we (and Komori) expected based on the ending of last week’s episode. Instead of Fuyutsuki, Himuro is letting a stray cat he found live in his apartment since he adores cats like Fuyutsuki. However, Himuro’s ice magic causes many issues in his attempt to have a pet, so Fuyutsuki volunteers to help him learn to befriend cats. Unfortunately, Himuro’s dream of keeping the cat vanishes when Fuyutsuki discovers that the cat is a missing pet named Boochi, resulting in them returning it to its owner.
But, of course, like Himuro, Fuyutsuki always knows how to cheer someone up when they’re feeling down. To cure his loneliness, Fuyutsuki invites Himuro to her apartment for the weekend to see her cat, Nyamero. Himuro has only seen Nyamero through Fuyutsuki’s photos and video chat. So it felt rewarding to see the ice descendant finally encountering Fuyutsuki’s pet cat for the first time in person. Unsurprisingly, Himuro felt the same when he caused a blizzard of soft snowflakes known as Diamond Dust. Compared to his other blizzard incidents, this is a sign of improvement for Himuro.
Sadly, the tender-hearted moment between Himuro and Fuyutsuki gets interrupted once again. This time, it’s by Himuro’s sister, Yukimi, stating that she and Fuyutsuki are friends and visits her apartment daily after work. Don’t you just love siblings who constantly interrupt your special moments? While Himuro is pretty upset with Yukimi’s sudden appearance, Fuyutsuki is happy that she gets to spend time with the icy siblings in her apartment. So it seems Himuro would have to make amends with Yukimi to please Fuyutsuki, especially since he wants to be more than just friends with her.
“Catch Me & Touch Me” is another charming episode that’s as adorable as Nyamero, with Yukimi continuing to be a tolerable addition to the cast. We also see more of Himuro’s ice magic through his emotions, which is still handled better than in the first episode. In addition to his Diamond Dust, Himuro also develops the Icicles of Sorrow after feeling depressed about not being a cat owner. Hopefully, for his sake, we won’t see the latter again if things don’t go well between Himuro and Fuyutsuki. With next week’s finale on the horizon and both characters having suitcases, things are about to get way cooler.
