English Dub Review: The Eminence in Shadow: “Unseen Intentions”
Overview: Annerose (Chelsea McCurdy) continues to suspect something off about Mundane Mann’s (Adam Gibbs) abilities, while Rose (Donna Bella Litton) finds herself on the run for crimes against her fiancé, Perv Asshat. (Brandon Hearnberger)
Our Take: Rose on the run creates some tension amongst her newly formed group. Alexia is onto Beta’s frail act, making their uneasy alliance even more shaky. With Beta slowing down her investigation, behind the scenes, the revelation makes how Alexia proceeds with her criminal partner even more intense.
Perv Asshat meets Iris and he’s just about what he sounds like on paper. His name and blatantly underlying evil intentions, are used for charmingly on-the-nose line delivery. What would otherwise be a simple, run-of-the-mill introduction is an enjoyably fun one.
Mundane Mann’s use of “attacks” is brilliant in the banality of them, from his simple punches or a sneeze. The lengths the show goes to communicate just how ridiculously overpowered Cid is always remains a treat.
With the elf Beatrix introduced, a showdown seems intriguing in how even Cid recognizes her strength, because of her perception. Also, her striking resemblance to Alpha sets up a new development with the Cult in their cloning.
However, what truly makes the punchlines hit is Annerose’ analysis of him. She’s shrewd in how she’s able to notice his potential, but ironically, naïve in what she takes from his battles. Her believing neck-cracking to be the secret to success is beyond hysterical.
Cid and Annerose’s battle is imminent, so it’ll be interesting how she measures up to him, even if her chances of victory are practically nil.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
