English Dub Review: The Aristocrat’s Otherworldly Adventure: Serving Gods Who Go Too Far “My Tutors Are Adventurers”
Overview:
Cain gets a couple of tutors to teach him the basics of adventuring.
Our Take:
Now that Cain has been baptized, his father hires two tutors to teach him swordsmanship and magic respectively. Milly is the combat tutor and Nina specializes in magic. They’re ready to teach Cain the basics, but there’s just one problem. He’s already more skilled than his tutors. There are some things he doesn’t know, but he even picks those up instantly.
The two are shocked and impressed by Cain’s skills. They fight monsters and go to the guild to look for bigger threats. A few guys cause trouble for Milly and Nina, but Cain does what he seems to do best: protect two girls. This is the third time he’s stepped in to protect girls and there’s always a pair of them in danger. At least it’s consistent in that regard.
Cain sticks with these tutors for three years. He even gives them lovely parting gifts, but he causes a ruckus gathering the materials to make them. Plus, they’re also much more powerful and extravagant than the standard items. Cain just can’t help being a standard overpowered isekai protagonist.
This episode is slightly better than the previous, but that’s mostly because I think Milly and Nina are nice additions to the cast. Milly is the more outgoing of the two and Nina is the more reserved one. They’re nothing special, but they offer some fun moments. My personal favorite is when Nina calls one of the guys at the guild “Stinky Breath Man.” It’s such a dumb insult, but it got a laugh out of me.
I’m still not fond of Cain already knowing everything and being able to achieve things without any sort of struggle. That’s just boring to watch because there isn’t any growth. It’s hard to root for a character to reach new heights when they’ve already surpassed them. That’s my biggest problem with this show right now, but I hope there will be some sort of obstacle for Cain to overcome in the future.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
