English Dub Review: Peter Grill and the Philosopher’s Time Super Extra “Peter Grill and the Future Legacy”

Overview

The Guildmaster’s plan pays off! Fortunately for Peter (but unfortunately for everyone else), the Dwarves’ natural predator chooses this moment to attack the ceremony

Our Take

Picking up from the previous episode, Peter’s unwanted harem proceeds to battle the cicada mole, but it is impervious to their attacks. Peter and Mithlim arrive, having reforged the broken sword into an axe, and he slices the monster in half. He tells everyone to make the alliance mutually beneficial by helping the dwarves relearn how to forge orichalcum. Consequently, Luvelia’s father is less than thrilled at these new turn of events.

Gordo is proud of his daughter for making the axe and saving their treaty, and when she tells him what she and Peter did, he orders him to make an unthinkable request… Luvelia asks her father for permission to go on a vacation with Peter. When he refuses, she finally stands up to him and says she is going with Peter regardless. The harem is predictably jealous that Mithlim is joining them. Luvelia arrives on horseback, says she is running away from home, and invites Peter to join her. Leading to an open-ended adventure yet to be told.

Overall, this was one hell of a chaotic season that introduced new characters while keeping the momentum going in terms of cringy sex jokes and other worlds to explore. My biggest issue aside from the obvious elephant in the room of sexual assault on men being treated as a cruel joke would have to be the random parts of censorship within the Dub as it was softcore at most but then out of nowhere felt the need to censor body parts at random (especially a robot lady’s breasts). But all of It remains to be seen whether or not Season 3 becomes a thing…
