English Dub Review: My Hero Academia “A Young Woman’s Declaration”
Overview:
As the evacuees at U.A. voice their dissent, Ochaco speaks up to try and sway them. Onlookers with ties to Izuku try to figure out if it’s time for them to speak out, too.
Our Take:
Just when I thought the last episode made me cry ugly tears then Ochaco has to come in and cement herself as best girl. My Hero Academia is one of the few series where the main heroine isn’t the one I want to see end up with the main character but after this episode, I might be changing my tune. I know I’ve read the manga but seeing it animated and voiced just brings another edge to it.
Speaking of the voice this is going to be me gushing about Luci Christian because she killed it in this episode. I recently watched the anime Claymore. I know it’s an older one but I’ve been on a bit of an older anime kick recently. Anyway, my point being is that there is a mini-arc in there with a character voiced by Luci. Now I’ve always loved and respected her work but her role as Ophelia in that blew my mind. It was perfect timing too because I knew this episode was coming up and I was ready to pay attention to how Luci handled this moment for Ochaco. As you can expect it was amazing and I was in tears. If you only want action from this series you might not have enjoyed this episode but if you just want some great character moments you will be in heaven.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
