English Dub Review: Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? “Amphisbaena | A Song of Despair”

Overview: 

With retreat an impossibility, Bell’s party fights for their lives when a Floor Boss spawns early. However, they are all adventurers; they will not die so easily.

Our Take:

We last left Bell in a rather awful situation and it doesn’t seem to be improving anytime soon. But his friends are fighting for their lives against the floor boss that they didn’t expect to have to fight. Lili is showing how good she can be as a leader by telling the team the best way to fight. I really like seeing the tactics play out and Lili has really grown as a character since the first season.

I remember when I watched the first season and it was just Bell and Hestia in their familia. Part of me hoped that it would always just be them and they would thrive against the odds. But there is something nice to be said about a family growing. They have a lot of members now and I have a feeling it’s not done growing. Hopefully, in this second cour, we get to see more of Ains Wallenstein because she’s my favorite character and I would like to see her join the familia but I’m not holding my breath for that one.
