Review: The Flying Sailor
Wendy Tilby and Amanda Forbis team up to co-direct an eight minute animated short produced in Canada inspired by the 1917 Halifax Explosion that killed nearly 1800 people and injured another 9000. One of those that did NOT perish was that of Charlie Mayers – A Sailor, who miraculously survived after being thrown over two miles as a result of the explosion and lived to tell about it.
This eight-minute short inspired by Mayers’ story features the sailor flying in the air, possibly near-death, but ultimately surviving. Forbis and Tilby help showcase a rather other-wordly circumstance but do so by holding back the sheer amount of destruction and chaos that went down that day.
Some may call it dumb luck, but it makes for an entertaining short worthy of its praise.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
