English Dub Review: Trigun Stampede “WOLFWOOD”

Overview:

Vash and Wolfwood work together to stop Livio, an assassin who has lost his sense of self. The chaos is further accelerated by an attack by the Bad Lads Gang. While this is happening, someone sabotages the Sandsteamer, sending it on a crash course with Hopeland, Wolfwood’s hometown.

Our Take:

If every CGI anime looked like this then I would be on board for it way more. I’m not a big animation nerd, at least when it comes to the technical aspects of it, so I don’t know what goes into this particular kind but it seems like they’ve found the secret sauce. The fight scenes are crisp and amazing and even just the character models themselves look great. I know a lot of people are upset with the Vash redesign but I don’t think it’s that bad.

I think this episode will be the turnaround of where it goes from a good or decent show to a great one. This boat heist has been giving me Mad Max vibes for some reason and I love the atmosphere of that. Not only that but with the final scene it seems that the Plants, these orbs that give almost everything their energy, might be alive. I wouldn’t say I haven’t been enjoying this anime but now I am actively anticipating it.
