English Dub Review: The Eminence in Shadow: “The Truth Within the Memories”
Overview: Cid (Adam Gibbs) teleports to the sanctuary holding Aurora as Alpha (Christina Kelly), Epsilon (Ellen Evans) and the other Shadows investigate it as well.
Our Take: The truth about the Cult of Diablos is an exposition heavy look behind the curtain. It would be an easy enough task to screw up should it not be very interesting. Thankfully, it is just the opposite.
Unraveling the lies pertaining to the hero, Olivia, is engrossing in how dark and twisted it is. Alpha’s resemblance to Olivia is smartly explained, highlighting how disgusting Diablos are in their experiments on her and others to resurrect the famed hero. It also confirms the cult’s influence on Lindwurm’s religion and, expectedly, the Knights of Round in enhancing their abilities.
Cid’s reunion with Aurora is also an engaging look into the emotional pain and abuse she suffered. It also puts a lens on how hardened she has become during her imprisonment and since her childhood.
With Archbishop Nelson’s retaliation, it gives the other Shadow Garden members the chance to shine. Delta makes quite a splash in her feral yet docile personality making her easy to love. Epsilon also gets funnily absurd moments in trying to preserve the secret of her voluptuous slime features.
Nelson’s demonic transformation sets up various intriguing fights. As the Shadows find themselves separated, hopefully each member, new and old, will be able to display their own unique onslaught.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
