English Dub Review: Don’t Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro “Why Don’t You Try Bulking Up a Little, Paisen?”

Senpai sketches Nagatoro in an athletic stance that seems very natural to her. Wait, is Nagatoro into judo…?

Our Take:

I don’t know what is more surprising, the fact that Senpai has been in a judo tournament before or that this anime is actually becoming decent. Sure there is still the dumb bullying and I don’t think that will ever go away completely but it hasn’t been nearly as bad as it was in the beginning. Senpai and Nagatoro actually have a decent thing going and we are getting some romantic progress at a decent clip. It’s not Horimiya or anything but I think it’s acceptable at this stage.

What isn’t acceptable is bringing a woman’s weight into any conversation. Seriously Senpai how dumb can you be? Nagatoro was being nice and giving him a judo lesson and he calls her “heavy” but she called it skill. I can’t believe I’m saying this but I actually side with Nagatoro in this case.

While the plot might be getting a little better the corner-cutting has not improved. Only the main characters that appear in this ever have faces. It’s so annoying seeing a character with just no face, I think the mangaka for this has a hentai background so maybe it comes from that but it just feels lazy.
