English Dub Review: Buddy Daddies “No Sweet Without Sweat”
Overview:
Miri participates in her day care’s field day and her papas are there to cheer her on.
Our Take:
It’s time for field day and all Miri wants to do is win a gold medal. Kazuki cheers her on while she’s training for the race, but Rei isn’t nearly as enthusiastic. That is, until he actually sees Miri competing in the race. Unfortunately, Miri gets distracted and trips, so she doesn’t end up winning the gold medal for the event.
Rei blames himself, but Miri has another chance. Her and Kazuki team up in the next race and they actually win. They also share a sweet moment after the race is over, which cheers Rei up. Overall, it’s a successful field day and a fun episode.
It’s not the most exciting or eventful episode in the show so far, but it’s still filled with the usual brand of humor. Plus, you can’t help but root for Miri during field day. Even Rei shows some enthusiasm, which is out of the ordinary for him.
We also get to see how popular Rei and Kazuki are among the other kids’ mothers. It’s easy to see why given the jobs they think Kazuki and Rei have. Not only that, but Kazuki makes enough food for Miri to share with her friends. That act of kindness is a great way to make a good impression.
There’s a part in the episode where Anna wants to take a picture of Miri and her papas, but they’re hesitant about it. They don’t want to create evidence and complicate their current situation regarding their jobs. However, it seems like they already have done so unknowingly. Seeds continue to planted for what may happen to the two and I can only imagine how things will turn out for them.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
