Our Take
I’ve really been patient with this mini-series for some sort of payoff, and this is as close as it has gotten for me thus far. The aesthetic adapting Pnakotus and the Yith to that of the world of Rick and Morty is really quite brilliant and exquisitely done. The dialogue from Jim Zub can be very hit or miss at times, especially with the jokes, but the premise of the issue is fantastic and both Troy Little and Leonardo Ito have really done a fantastic job in helping mix the drip and drab settings inspired by Lovecraft in such horrifying ways.
When we boil down, we do get a sense of just setting up for what should be a pretty crazy finale. We really don’t get a resolution of what happened to Morty in issue 2, and there are a lot of threads to account for, so I’m rooting for Zub and Co. so that they can stick to this landing.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
