English Dub Review: Ningen Fushin: Adventurers Who Don’t Believe in Humanity Will Save the World “Curran’s Secret”

Overview:

Curran thinks back to her past, and what made her the disillusioned woman she is today.

Our Take:

Don’t get me wrong, what Curran suffered was a true betrayal. My only issue with the things that have happened to this group is they show too much. I mean that Zem and Curran had big betrayals, but then a good person helped them afterward, so their “hate” of humanity is a little less believable. But Curran was the character I was most interested in learning about and this episode did not disappoint in that regard.

Nick felt bad for scratching Curran’s necklace and was looking for a replacement. We learned that the necklace has negative memories for Curran so it felt like a non-issue. It mostly was but seeing Nick and Curran spend time together was cute and enjoyable. I don’t know if there will be romance in this but there was definitely some chemistry between the two.

Next up is a journey into a dangerous labyrinth for a sword I think. Not sure why a new party is being tasked with such a seemingly important job but I’m intrigued none the less. Next week should be fun.
