English Dub Review: My Hero Academia “Izuku Midoriya and Tomura Shigaraki”; “Full Power!!”

Overview:

Inside One For All, Izuku talks with the past wielders as the top three heroes deal with public sentiment after Dabi’s revelation.

After Izuku decides not to go back to U.A., he finds himself facing Muscular, who was broken out of jail, again and uses the Quirks of the past wielders against him.

Our Take:

Crunchyroll subtitle translations strike again! With Deku’s voice being muffled they used subtitles to translate what he was saying but then they didn’t translate that for us watching in English. It is so hit or miss. Sometimes the episodes have the translations from the jump and then other times it’s not for a few days, but either way, it’s becoming unacceptable when we miss out on story beats from it. I don’t want to turn this review into just shitting on Crunchyroll but they don’t even stick to their upload schedule.

As for the episodes they were really good. I love that we got some more background info on the former wielders of One for All, it had been a while since I read the manga so getting these refreshers has been nice. The way this arc goes is one of my favorites and I loved getting to see Dark Deku animated. Strap in folks, you’re in for a good one.
