English Dub Review: Don’t Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro “Why Don’t You Come Inside, Senpai-kun?”
Overview:
Senpai visits Nagatoro’s home to deliver handouts from school. Her sister lets him in and decides to mess with both him and Nagatoro.
Our Take:
I think what is most annoying about this anime is that it shows flashes of promise but it’s seemingly too lazy to deliver on them. Either that or I’m just not the audience for it which is extremely likely. I love a good “will they, won’t they” romance as much as the next guy but the lengths this goes to are almost as bad as Rent-a-Girlfriend and you know how much I hate that one.
There were a few moments that were pretty decent in this one. I understand that Nagatoro doesn’t want to admit that she has feelings for Senpai so that’s why she lashes out with pranks and mean words but c’mon. It’s just you two in your bedroom, you don’t have to be a dick.
Props to Senpai for saying that he would like to call Nagatoro by her first name. If this is your first anime ever (first off, I’m sorry) you might know that calling someone by their first name is a big deal in Japan. It shows familiarity and is often only done between family members, close friends, and lovers. Senpai out here showing some backbone! With his bravery, this episode was a little better than average but you could still do much better.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
