English Dub Review: Don’t Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro “So This Is Your Room, Huh, Senpai?”

Overview:

Senpai gets sick, so Nagatoro comes over to check on him. His family happens not to be home.

Our Take:

Now if this anime would do more episodes like this than how it usually is we would be on to something. When Nagatoro is actually honest with her feelings and doesn’t feel like she has to be a bully the whole time she is pretty likable. Senpai while sick wasn’t as annoying and acted like a human being which was refreshing in its own way.

Don’t get me wrong I know the whole “will they/won’t they” angle is a huge part of how these anime operate. But I just would prefer more episodes where they treat each other like this as opposed to all the bullying. Sure, it’s not quite bullying how you and I think of it but still seeing an episode like this upsets me because I see the potential of how this anime could be.

I hope that we get more episodes like this and we get to see Nagatoro in a more positive light. From what I have heard from the manga readers is that it starts to get away from the bullying and leans into more typical rom-com stuff.
