Comedy Central today announced that “Mike Judge’s Beavis and Butt-Head” will make its broadcast premiere airing after the 26th season premiere of “South Park” on Wednesdays beginning February 8th at 10:30 PM ET/PT making the network the mid-week destination for Adult Animation.

From Emmy® Award-winning creator Mike Judge and MTV Entertainment Studios, the new iteration of “Mike Judge’s Beavis and Butt-Head” featuring the iconic duo’s first original episodes in over 10 years, originally premiered August 4th, 2022 on Paramount+. The series follows on the heels of the critically acclaimed Paramount+ original film “Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe.” The service also hosts the 1996 classic movie “Beavis and Butt-Head Do America,” as well as remastered versions of the classic series.

Comedy Central previously announced an expansive deal with Judge to reimagine MTV’s seminal, Gen X-defining “Beavis and Butt-Head” in 2020, ordering 2 seasons as well as additional spin-offs and specials.

Launched in 1993, “Beavis and Butt-Head” quickly became a force in pop culture and started a television revolution with its pure, unadulterated, satirical commentary on youth and adolescence. Centered around two teenage couch potatoes, “Beavis” and “Butt-Head,” the unprecedented concept immediately became part of the vernacular in a way no other adult animated series had before. Known for tackling social issues including teen obesity, workers’ rights and media trends, the show connected with an entire generation, laying claim as one of the most innovative series in the modern-day zeitgeist.

Created and voiced by Judge, the characters of Beavis and Butt-Head originated in Judge’s 1992 short film “Frog Baseball,” which was broadcast by MTV’s animation showcase “Liquid Television.” After MTV commissioned a full series around the characters, “Beavis and Butt-Head” ran for seven seasons from March 8, 1993 to Nov. 28, 1997. The series was revived in 2011 with an eighth season airing on MTV.

“Mike Judge’s Beavis and Butt-Head” is executive-produced by Mike Judge, Lew Morton and Michael Rotenberg, and Chris Prynoski, Shannon Prynoski, Ben Kalina, and Antonio Canobbio for Titmouse.
