English Dub Review: The Daily Life of the Immortal King “The Worker Bee Spirit in the Sun Family”

Overview: 

Sun Rong’s family runs into some financial hardship and has to live in a cave. The Tang family offers to help in the form of a blood-binding contract but the timing seems a bit too convenient…

Our Take:

I only have one little nitpick this week and that has to do with the voice actor playing Wang Ling. Ethan Gallardo does his voice and honestly, he has been doing a great job. This is the first lead character he has voiced to my knowledge and I’ve been impressed. My minor issue is that Wang is starting to show more signs of emotion and there was a scene where he seems to get upset but when he “yells” it’s barely higher than his normal voice and it was somewhat of a missed opportunity to me.

Sun Rong’s family being decked out in caveman clothing was absolutely fantastic though. When she came swinging in on a vine doing the Tarzan yell I about lost it. But what makes me happy is seeing how Wang Ling is starting to become more human with his feelings. The second he knew Sun Rong was in trouble he and his friends turned around. Speaking of them, they are becoming a pretty well-oiled fighting unit.
