English Dub Review: Sugar Apple Fairy Tale “The Bloody Highway”
Overview
Shalle sends the bandits fleeing in the blink of an eye. Inside the wagon, he rescues through his actions is someone who has business with Anne. On top of that, the fairy Anne saved back in town follows them for reasons of his own…
Our Take
This time around, Shalle is still basically making Anne command him even though she doesn’t want to because he wants her fully aware of the nature of their relationship as it is right now, which will make it more meaningful when that starts to change. Also, We learn more about Anne and her mother along with how recently her mother died and Anne’s desire to give her mother a proper send-off.
As for the character Jonas, part of me feels bad for the pompous fucker. You could make the argument that he loves her, but there seems to be this classic outdated narrative that you have to chase the person you love to prove your love to them which hasn’t aged well in old-ass romantic comedies. He could just take the damn hint, but it doesn’t feel like he’s going out of his way for her out of pure pity…
Overall, this episode went by too quickly. But at the very least, the colorful aesthetics continue to look good, Shalle remains entertaining to watch, and that small fairy Mithrill is bringing out a lot of energy and personality into the story as he the origins of fairies in the sense that they’re capable of being born from elemental objects which is a really interesting idea that I hope is further expanded and elaborate on in later storylines.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
