English Dub Review: My Hero Academia “Final Performance”

Overview:

Thinking of his great-great-grandfather, Mr. Compress performs his greatest trick in order to save the League of Villains.

Our Take:

With this episode, we reach the end of the first cour of season six of My Hero Academia. I am pretty sure it’s going right into the second one but I could be wrong. It was an amazing cour full of a lot of action and crazy moments. But what happened in this episode was pretty fantastic, we had never seen Mr. Compress’s face before this and because of the nature of what he was doing his mask came off. The only negative thing I can say is that his VA doesn’t really match his face to me, he looks really young and the VA sounds a bit older but it’s not too terrible.

I am really excited to see how a lot of the heroes react to this. Since hero society has been a thing there hasn’t been anything like this. This was the biggest defeat I think they have suffered and without a hero like All-Might I believe that is where they are going to base their judgment. After he retired it shifted to multiple heroes getting the job done instead of relying on one. This definitely exposed the weaknesses that can bring.
