English Dub Review: Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer “That Which Ends and That Which Continues”
Overview
The Beast Knights bid farewell to their squires and go their separate ways before meeting up again sometime later in the future…
Our Take
Everything that was culminated in the past 23 episodes now comes to an end. And predictably, we also get a “time skip” of sorts that mostly serves as an epilogue. This whole episode was very celebratory as everyone who survived to the final battle said goodbye to their animal squire and the sendoff felt quite fitting for the show.
All the music played for this specific finale felt like it was a montage/celebration of sorts for the knights and characters showing the finality of the plot and these people having to return to their daily lives and having to say goodbye to their partners was something you don’t get with a lot of shounen series.
Overall this was an anime that had the potential to be good on an artistic level but sadly shot itself in the food during its production. it’s not completely terrible, but it does overshadow the later proceedings and make it hard to recommend in this age of great-looking animation. I feel that if this got its anime a release a decade ago in the early to mid-2000s, it would’ve been regarded as a classic even if it looked the way it does today. However, waiting so long to make the anime and having it not look good is not a good combination. At the very least, I still loved the writing and characters and while feeling very self-contained, I doubt we’ll get a Season 2 in the future.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
