English Dub Review: Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War “Everything But The Rain June Truth”

Overview:

Squad 10 Captain Isshin Shiba of the Thirteen Court Guard Squads decides to not report his encounter with the Quincy named Masaki Kurosaki in the World of the Living to the Head Captain.

Our Take:

While I love what is going on in this arc, I’m enjoying this flashback and wouldn’t mind it lasting a bit longer. Seeing more of Isshin and Masaki’s love story would have been nice but I understand we need to get to the essential bits. Though I think we will have at least a little bit more flashback because apparently, Isshin has something to tell Ichigo about how his mother died.

Seeing how Isshin and Urahara know each other was also pretty cool. I know a lot of people won’t enjoy these last couple of episodes as much as I have but now that we know Masaki was a Quincy I enjoyed it. Mainly, because as it turns out she was a total badass. Sure a part of me wishes she was just a normal human but hey this is cool too. It might make Ichigo a tad overpowered but hey that’s kind of how shonen anime go.
