English Dub Review: Is It Wrong To Try To Pick Up Girls In A Dungeon? “Juggernaut | The Destroyer”

Some monsters you must fight and from others, you must flee. But beware the Juggernaut lest you simply cease to be.

Our Take:

I was fully prepared to talk some major smack on this episode. We see this monster absolutely tear through parties left and right. I have to address this because oh my god was this episode gory. Don’t get me wrong this anime hasn’t been the tamest of shows but this episode brought the gore content to a ten. Almost everyone was getting torn limb from limb and it was honestly kind of shocking. A lot of times when you don’t get to glimpse the monster and finally get to see it it is usually disappointing. But this monster was legitimately terrifying and you won’t be disappointed there.

I was going to talk about how anime (and fiction in general) handle situations like this. Hardened adventurers get destroyed like nothing but yet the protagonist usually has no trouble. I understand they’re the hero and all that but it should still be tough. Well… that wasn’t the case here because Bell got wrecked. I really don’t know how he’s going to survive but conventional wisdom tells me he has to. He did land next to some water so maybe that mermaid comes to the rescue? All I know is this was a fantastic episode that left me speechless.
