English Dub Review: I’m the Villainess, So I’m Taming the Final Boss “The Villainess Should Just Be Forgotten”
Overview (Spoilers Below):
Aileen and the others infiltrate a black market auction that is trading demon incense. She meets the sorcerer Elephas Levi when she tries to sneak into the host’s room. The final boss of the Regalia of Saints, Demons, and Maidens fan disk wishes to meet with Claude. Levi hopes that Claude will reconsider the treatment of the Levi family. That night, Aileen receives a report that Claude is stabbed in the abdomen by someone?!
Our Take:
This week’s episode brings us to the final arc of its first season, which will hopefully close everything off with a wicked bang. Following her mission to infiltrate the academy, Aileen is now tackling another final boss, who happens to be from a fan disk. However, this final boss, a sorcerer named Elephas Levi, is a bit more friendly than the others, as he’s asking Claude to free his family from captivity. Unfortunately, this is later interrupted by a much bigger problem that could spell the end of Aileen’s love for Claude.
Beforehand, we see Claude meeting up with Cedric, who was last seen in the fourth episode. In a surprising turn of events, Cedric warns Claude that Lilia is planning something big. But, more importantly, he’s willing to help Aileen and Elephas find Claude following an incident. This is the first time this season that Cedric actually has a heart regarding his demon brother. Sure, he’s still an ungrateful asshole from the first few episodes, but his kind gesture shows that there may be some redemption left in this unhinged prince. Of course, I wouldn’t be surprised if there isn’t since his reckless actions were inexcusable, but I would like to be wrong.
Instead of having Elephas being the main focus, the final arc places its attention on Claude having amnesia after being stabbed in the abdomen by someone. Not only is Claude starting over as a human being awaiting to be crowned prince, but he also doesn’t remember Aileen. As a result, Aileen strives to make him fall in love with her again without getting executed.
This hearkens back to the first arc, where Aileen has to marry Claude before her demise. This raises my concern that the final arc would become too familiar with the first four episodes, but I’m willing to withhold my judgment until I watch the last three. As for the mysterious suspect who caused this, I will bet that either Lilia or Elephas might be responsible for putting Claude in that position.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
