English Dub Review: Call of the Night “13th Night: Call of the Night”
Overview:
The night feels distant. Ko isn’t sure how to close that gap.
Our Take:
I was not looking forward to this one ending and now it looks like that is for multiple reasons. On one hand, I really enjoyed it and didn’t want to see it end. On the other hand, it felt like a disjointed ending and SHOULDN’T end where it did. This was another one where I wanted more and it feels like a lot of plotlines were left hanging. I was a bit worried when they introduced the vampire hunter/detective only a couple of episodes ago. One of my favorite arcs from the manga wasn’t even touched on yet so I feel like this one could have benefitted from a two cour run.
Having said all that I really enjoyed my time with Call of the Night and I think that’s the important part. The characters were fun and the animation was top-notch. Not to mention the voice work was fantastic. I would say the biggest praise I can give is also one of the bigger issues I have with the show. I want another season and want to see more of Ko and friends because as it stands now it feels like the night was just getting started.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
