English Dub Review: To Your Eternity “Beating Will”

Overview

Things do not go well when Tonari tries to remove the Nokker from Hisame’s arm…

Our Take

How glad was I seeing Tonari back after the time skip, though only to watch her depart just an episode later? The template of this series is to mess with your emotions and as usual, they doing that.

I also feel like, those “Nokker” creatures at this point are pretty much useless as villains for this particular branch of storytelling. I was more interested in the Hayase/little girl plot, but the episode literally skipped her with Fushi being able to outlive 5 generations of Hayase kids, and makes me wonder how many years have passed since the first little girl to the first boy?

Overall, while I do appreciate that the narrative is recognizing the fact that time is a non-factor for Fushi and it’s possible for years to come and go in a blink of an eye. I do have to say, that too much of this can get repetitive real fast. Hopefully, they have something big going on in later episodes/storylines, because if they keep going like this, those Nokker creatures will not be able to hold my expectations…
