English Dub Review: The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated! “The Great Jahy Can’t Sleep…”

Overview:

Even though Druj has been tremendously successful in the human world, enough to be called a celebrity, she is still haunted by emptiness.
The only one who can fill that void is Jahy-sama.
When she gets to the pub, Druj sees Jahy-sama scold Kyouko repeatedly.
Meanwhile, Jahy-sama was actually feeling exhausted from everything that had been happening.
That’s why she decides to buy a new futon to improve her sleep quality.

Our Take:

Do you know what one of my favorite anime tropes is? Yanderes, I absolutely adore yanderes. If you throw a yandere in, I am way more likely to watch that anime. It was what made me watch Engage Kiss after all so that was one thing that I really enjoyed in this episode. Seeing Druj go full yandere watching Kyouko work with Jahy was fantastic. I still stand by the fact that this show has been a lot better since Kyouko got introduced and this episode is just further proof.

Luckily for Jahy, Druj goes through so many mental gymnastics to try and figure out why Jahy would be nice that Jahy doesn’t have to say anything. Jahy isn’t the best at making her situation work out for her but Druj is just so dumb that it always works out. There is still something off about the Dark Lord but we didn’t get anything explained this week either.
