English Dub Review: Call of the Night “11th Night: Do You Know What A Vampire Is?”
Overview:
Nazuna needs new blood for her cuddle-buddy business, and Ko is on the case! But he’s not the only one wandering the night looking for someone…
Our Take:
If you would have told me that an episode would have next to no Nazuna in it I would have probably told you that it was going to be a trash episode. But it turns out I would have been wrong because this was a fantastic episode. Seeing Ko spend time with his friends in their school at night investigating the “Seven Wonders” was really enjoyable. They hit on a lot of the classics that if you are an avid anime watcher you’ve probably heard of a few such as Hanako a spirit bound to the restroom. Things came crashing down when they encountered a vampire that attacked Akira though.
I need to backtrack a bit because this was an episode I was looking forward to because they introduce a really cool new character, Anko Uguisu. She is a detective that typically specializes in missing persons which has led her to a couple of run-ins with vampires. She didn’t go so far as to say she was a “vampire hunter” per se but I think she pretty much is. This new character is voiced by Jessica Calvello who most probably knows her as the voice of Hange in Attack on Titan.
Back to the vampire attack, you can probably guess who shows up to save the day. But I have a feeling this will lead to a lot of issues in Ko’s life considering a lot of his friends are vampires and he himself wants to become one. It is a bit concerning because we only have two episodes left so that seems like a lot to cover in a short amount of time. Great episode to a great show but it gets a bit of a downgrade because of little Nazuna screen time.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
