English Dub Review: Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War “Foundation Stones”
Overview:
Arrancars Nel Tu and Pesche Guatiche have come to seek Ichigo’s help explaining that Hueco Mundo is under attack by an unknown enemy. Unable to ignore the situation, Ichigo and his friends decide to set out for Hueco Mundo.
Our Take:
This was the first episode in that Urahara has shown up in the new arc. Sadly his original dub voice actor, Michael Lindsay passed away back in 2019. Luckily they got a great replacement in Doug Erholtz. I imagine it’s never an easy job taking over for someone who passes away but the actors do their best and I think Erholtz is a great choice. Let’s do our best to support him the rest of the season and know we appreciate him taking on this huge task.
Is it just me or is this Bleach way gorier than the old one? Only two episodes in and it has gotten vicious. Lots of severed limbs and death which makes sense, censorship is a little less of a thing than it was then. Plus being on Hulu gives them a little more leeway I’m sure. Ichigoat finds himself face-to-face with one of his new enemies. What are he and the rest of Soul Society going to do with the information that this new enemy is Quincy’s?
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
