English Dub Season Review: Classroom of the Elite Season Two

Overview:

The stage is now set for Kiyotaka Ayanokouji to once again—using the full extent of his planning, foresight, and ruthless manipulation—steer Class D to victory as dangerously close enemy forces try to bring it down.

Our Take:

This was the year that anime fans learned to not give up on a sequel season for their favorite shows. Many anime seem to be stuck in one season hell but we all have hope after this year I feel. Not only that but this and The Devil is a Part-Timer! are already getting a third season as well. I am not sure what goes into deciding a continuation of an anime, whether it be manga/ light novel sales or anime views but it seems some of these studios are listening to the fans finally. We won’t get any more seasons of anything if the show is garbage though. So how does this second season hold up to the first?

It picks up right where the second season left off but now we know full well the type of person that Ayanokoji is. Which makes this a very interesting season because now we know exactly how he operates. I think that what makes this season so interesting is just trying to figure out how Ayanokoji is going to get out of each of these situations. If you like smart protagonists this show is right up your alley.

A few of the side characters also get some good development this season. We don’t quite get all the answers I would like but with a third season on the way, I think I can live with it. What I wasn’t expecting was all the romantic teasing we got in this season. Now THAT makes me really excited for season three. But we would need Ayanokoji to actually show some emotion for anything to progress in that department, for him at least. If you liked the first season of Classroom of the Elite you will not be disappointed with how this one plays out and luckily you won’t have to wait five years to get more.
