English Dub Review: The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated! “Kokoro-chan Will Not Betray?”

Overview:

Saurva was busy again experimenting, this time she invents a potion that turns you into a dog, body, and soul. However, she accidentally drinks it herself and turns into a cute black Shiba dog. In this form, she runs into the Landlord. While Saurva thought that she’s a scary punk, the Landlord is actually quite kind to animals and Saurva gets away safely. On the other hand, Jahy-sama discovers a humongous chunk of the mana crystal on the street. However, thinking that it could be one of the Magical Girl’s traps, she agonizes.

Our Take:

So we have Jahy finally finding a friend and someone she cares about in Kokoro. She even starts to question why she is acting the way she is. Wanting to show off things and protect her newfound friend are all feelings that The Great Jahy isn’t used to. That kind of makes me sad because did she never have a friend in the Dark Realm? Did she just start out on top and therefore never got the chance to make any friends? After her time in our realm, I think that will change.

What won’t change is the awkwardness that Saurva created. She made a potion that turned her into a dog, I am guessing she was testing it to see if it worked. One thing led to another and of course, she ran into Jahy who just wanted to pet the dog. This led to a majorly awkward interaction between the two. Jahy just pouring affection on this dog that she has no idea is actually her subordinate. But that is some of the humor we’ve come to expect from this one. I’ll take the former friendship development of Jahy as a win though.
