English Dub Review: Saint Seiya: Battle for Sanctuary “The Secrets of Sanctuary”

Overview:

The Bronze Knights have to move on to their next battle and Sienna is in danger once again.

Our Take:

The Bronze Knights arrive at the Libra Temple and they find Magnus encapsulated in an ice prison. They try to free him, but the Gold Knight of Libra: Dohko tells them it’s near impossible. However, there is a weapon that can do it. Long finds the weapon and frees Magnus, but he’s still presumed dead.

Meanwhile, Seiya and Long move ahead to battle with the Gold Scorpio Knight: Milo. Seiya shows his feats of strength as usual. Also, Mu’s team figures out that the real headmaster has been killed a long time ago. The one who’s been posing as him is on the attack and Mu sacrifices himself to save the others.

Also, Serena is danger once again. The same crew who pursued her previously is back, but they have some assistance. Mylock doesn’t have to fend them off alone this time because he soon receives backup and they are led by none other than Magnus.

A lot goes on in this episode, but it’s still not much to pique my interest. That seems to be the main issue with this show. The fights are fine and the sacrifices are fine, but there isn’t a lot to get attached to. Shaun blames herself for Magnus’ death and she’s still mourning over the loss of her brother, but Magnus ends up being fine. It doesn’t nullify the conflict, but it does lessen its impact a little for me.
