English Dub Review: Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer “The Asahina Family”
Overview
Samidare runs away from home to avoid her Mom, so Yuuhi is forced to live with the Asahina family while she stays at his apartment…
Our Take
This time around we have more backstory as we get to know the Samidare family. How Samidare’s mother and even older sister were away most of Samidare childhood. It was very sad seeing how much it hurt a child her age to be left alone. Her older sister did feel bad about it looking back feeling like she abandoned Samidare. And the pain Samidare felt like her family fell apart because of her for some reason.
Yuuhi being there for Samidare was sweet too. Lots of people love Samidare and need her for this upcoming fight. As the others have been training while waiting for Animus to send the next golem, the being Anima is awakening. On the subject of training A golem being an ally? That’s certainly new for the Beast Knights, and naming it Montag is just plain ridiculousness. But it’s a good training partner that’s for sure.
Overall,aA very good episode. Once again, episodes like this make me think about what this show could have been if the production wasn’t always all over the place. At the very least, the characters and writing are what’s saving it. Also one of the biggest highlights was a song played by the Japanese punk band “The Pillows” of FLCL fame which caught me off guard in a good way. As for the family drama, It seems to do a good job selling said drama but not enough to distract the narrative. With one more episode left, how can they possibly end this season?
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
