Our Take:
The first episode has a title that references the 1996 cult classic featuring Michael Jordan and the Looney Tunes. Unfortunately, it’s far from something involving the siblings playing basketball. Although, it does feature outer space, which is more than enough for me to watch the episode.
Instead, “Space Jammed” features Lisa and her robot companion, Todd, in another scientific situation while left home alone with Leni. Lisa is building a rocket ship for the Norwegian government, but Leni’s meddling keeps distracting her. So she and Todd escape to space with a rocket ship to get some peace. Unfortunately, they immediately wound up in danger of being destroyed by an asteroid field and the sun. Lisa tried to fix the situation herself, but she kept making the problem worse, so she used Leni’s babysitting tactics to return home alive, including eating a snack and getting herself focused with a dance move.
The second episode’s plot involves yet another pageant-related adventure featuring the queen of pageants herself, Lola Loud. This time, she’s participating in a mother-daughter competition with her mom, Rita. However, Rita isn’t precisely a competitive pageant lover like Lola. So Lola trains Rita to be an expert pageant queen and a ribbon dancer, but unsurprisingly, it doesn’t turn out well as Lola hoped. To keep her reputation alive, Lola resorts to using a replacement mom in the form of Mrs. B due to her incredible talent. However, Lola eventually turns over a new leaf when she discovers that the pageant isn’t as competitive as her other ones.
Overall, both episodes are out of this world for the intergalactic shenanigan and mother-daughter bonding time. “Space Jammed” is another fun Lisa-focused episode with many comical moments involving her robotic sidekick. More importantly, it teaches young viewers to appreciate an older sibling’s advice to get specific things done. “Crown and Dirty” doesn’t offer much to the show’s formula involving Lola learning to care for others instead of herself regarding her reputation. However, it quickly benefited from its heartfelt message of having fun and spending time with a loved one, especially when it involves a mother and her daughter performing their routine from a preschool talent show.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
