English Dub Review: Rent-a-Girlfriend “Kiss and Girlfriend”

Overview:

When Nagomi hears that Chizuru’s birthday has passed, she decides to throw a combined party for both her and Kazuya and refuses to take no for an answer!

Our Take:

Nagomi sure goes all out for Chizuru, I am distraught for Kazuya once she finds out that Chizuru is just a rental girlfriend. This is one of those stories that we all know how it’s going to end (unfortunately) it’s just how we get there. The journey is more important than the destination as they say. But when the journey is an eye-rolling slog then was it really worth it? I will never understand what Ruka or Sumi see in this guy. Sure we all know Chizuru will be the winner but at least for now, she seems to have a brain and realizes what a loser Kazuya is. I just hope he gets some character growth soon.

Speaking of Ruka, she did her best to win those brownie points with Kazuya’s family. Chizuru isn’t a professional for nothing though, she mopped the floor with Ruka. Especially when it came to the little things. But she definitely got back at her in her own way, though why she would want to kiss Kazuya is anybody’s guess. Still, garbage anime, see ya’ll next week.
