English Dub Review: Don’t Hurt Me, My Healer! “Thanks to Altargaia (reminder: this is the mushroom’s name)…”

Overview:

The party retrieve’s Marie’s lost sister, Carla tries to show Alvin how rejuvenating she is, and Alvin loses his sword.

Our Take:

Altargaia releases Alvin from jail and then the party goes to find Marie’s lost sister: Ellie. She’s a wandering spirit and thanks to Carla, they find her. They play a game and Ellie is returned to her body.

Later, Alvin talks about how rejuvenating Marie’s personality is. Carla tries to prove how rejuvenating she is, which involves her wearing a cat girl costume for some reason.

Afterwards, Alvin loses his sword. Carla attempts to use a crystal ball to locate it, but to no avail. She then throws the crystal ball into the forest, claiming it landed where Alvin’s Sword was. Alvin doubts this and just decides he’ll buy a new sword instead. Carla wants Alvin to help find her crystal ball, but Altargaia has already chased after it.

While there are a couple of moments in this episode that made me laugh a little, it’s still mostly unfunny jokes and sad excuses for Carla’s “character development.” I don’t care for Ellie and I’m still not huge on Marie. Since most of the episode revolves around our usual trio, it’s still more of the same. Not as bad as the previous episode, but still not very good.
