English Dub Review: Don’t Hurt Me, My Healer! “In the second half of this episode, we enter the ‘What Story Is This?’ arc…”

Overview:

Alvin and Carla are confronted at the adventurer’s guild. Later, they investigate a haunted mansion.

Our Take:

We see Alvin and Carla go to the adventurer’s guild. Alvin wants to check his ranking. Unsurprisingly, it’s so low that he doesn’t get a conclusive result. An adventurer named Brigan comes in and insults the two. While he’s acting tough, Carla hits him with a sneak attack and ends up breaking a table.

As punishment for the table, the guild sends Alvin and Carla to check out a haunted mansion. Carla asks a ghost named Anna for help. She died after attempting to enter the mansion. There’s a spirit that haunts it and everyone sees it first hand. It doesn’t take Carla long to overcome her fear. She also ends up helping the spirit let go of her anguish and take a new form. We also learn that her name is Ryoko and both her and Anna join the party.

This episode is fine, but ultimately uneventful. Again, a couple of funny moments, but nothing aggravating this time around. I’m happy that a couple of new characters are joining the party. We didn’t get to see much of them yet, but both Anna and Ryoko seem fine at first. I’m hoping that they will balance the party out a bit more during the last few episodes.
