English Dub Review: Shadows House “A Midnight Meeting of Peers”

Overview:

While in the research team’s lab, Kate and the others look for hints as to Master Robe’s identity.

Our Take:

What I like as Shadows House progresses is that even though we can’t see the shadow’s faces we can start to tell what they’re thinking and their emotional state. Sure some of that is because shadows like Kate start emitting soot from the top of her head so it’s a bit easy to tell but still. You really start to feel the emotion coming out of their voice and I think that is one thing that sets this apart from other anime.

Kate has begun to show a lot of growth this season. She realizes that Emilico just naturally has people flock to her just because of how charismatic she is. Or just how intoxicatingly cheerful she always is. The more I think about it I don’t remember ever seeing Emilico upset, she worried for Kate some sure but never really got angry that I remember.

All of the characters of Shadows House are intriguing and I am looking forward to how this mystery plays out. Could Christoper, the shadow that everyone looks up to, be the Master Robe? Most won’t listen to any talk of it because he was that beloved. Years of watching anime and recognizing tropes tell me that, that means he will be the culprit but we’ll see.
