English Dub Review: Orient “The War God’s Mantle”

Overview:

Michiru’s family is revealed! But they seem to be more Oni than human. What will Musashi do once the truth is revealed?

Our Take:

I really cannot describe how much better this show has gotten. The characters, the plot, and just about everything has been dialed up. If this was a one cour show this might have gone down as one of my biggest busts for an anime. It’s still a negative that the worldbuilding took so long to get going but I ultimately feel it was worth it.

One of my biggest worries is that the Uesugi group will ultimately try to kill Michiru after seeing what has happened. But it looks like at least in the meantime they are more concerned with healing her and the other problems currently than her. I think when she came into the series is when it first started to get better so I hope she doesn’t go anywhere. My only gripe with the current arc is that Musashi hasn’t really done anything. But typically in a shonen that will change after some growth and I think we are currently in the growth part. Next episode could be pretty interesting based on how this one ended.
