English Dub Review: Orient “Equals”

Overview:

Musashi’s troubles in the Shimazu Unit seem to get worse and worse, with accusations of desertion and espionage thrown his way. At least he can turn to the gentle Michiru to take his side… or can he?

Our Take:

What an episode! This was without a doubt the best episode between the two cours so far. I say it all the time but you know how much I love romance and we definitely have some blossoming between Michiru and Musashi. The only problem is Michiru was tasked by her “father” to kill Musashi which could delay any sort of wedding bells we might hear.

I can’t tell if this man is actually Michiru’s father or he just adopted her or something. He said she was his “3,000th” daughter and that just can’t be right. No matter how busy he got I don’t think those numbers are possible. Michiru did say she was falling in love with Musashi so I hope they can work it out. I can’t tell you how much this anime has improved from the first couple of episodes. I feel bad saying this but I think Musashi’s friends were just kind of boring and taking the focus away from them has really helped.
