English Dub Review: Life with an Ordinary Guy Who Reincarnated into a Total Fantasy Knockout “A Guy Who Reincarnated as a Fantasy Knockout and Armor that Moves”

Overview (Spoilers Below):
In order to prove that he is a true hero who has been summoned by a goddess, Schwartz, a high school student who is from Japan just like Tachibana and Jinguji, goes on a mission to defeat the living armor which has been attacking tradesmen near the Mercs territory. The living armor only targets magic items, and tries to take Schwartz’s holy sword, Gram, and Tachibana’s tiara, but…!

Our Take:
Last week’s episode introduced us to the party’s newest member: Schwartz von Liechtenstein Lohengramm. Like Tachibana and Jinguji, he too was summoned from Earth by a goddess to be the hero of the isekai RPG world. This episode sees Schwartz proving his heroic presence by taking on the show’s first side-quest with the help of Tachibana, Jinguji, and policewoman Lucius.
Their objective is to battle a living suit of armor that’s been stealing people’s magical (and valuable) belongings and stripping them naked. So the armor is both a robber and a disgusting pervert. What a perfect combination for an anime like this. The armor introduced itself as Vizzd, an officer working for the Demon Lord. Following a brief and awkward confrontation, Vizzd is revealed to be a young girl who’s attempting to collect magical energy to revert to her normal form.
It’s elementary that in every RPG game, there are tons of side-quests that are excruciatingly time-consuming yet wield outstanding rewards. They may not do much to progress the overall story, but they do help make our characters stronger in their quests to defeat the ultimate evil. The side-quest in “Armor that Moves” is no exception, although it isn’t as time-consuming as I’d expect from an RPG-themed isekai series.
The episode showcases more of its standard action scenes, with Tachibana and the others combating Vizzd before they get embarrassed by being stripped. The show is known for providing a combination of light-hearted action and meta-comedy, which works most of the time. This sequence is no different, with Jinguji unknowingly using his frustration about the thought of Tachibana being stripped to destroy Vizzd’s armor. I also liked that it had a brief and hilarious definition of a “boyfriend shirt” for newcomers unfamiliar with the romance genre.
In addition to Vizzd, the episode also introduced us to yet another enemy that’ll soon cause problems for the isekai heroes: The demoness Kalm. She only made a brief appearance in the episode, with her breaking Vizzd out of prison. We don’t know what she’s capable of yet, but I bet she’ll be quite an opponent regarding her abilities.
Also, the episode didn’t take too long for Tachibana to reveal the truth to Schwartz, and his response is pretty much what I expected: total devastation. It probably saved us the trouble if it ripped the band-aid off quickly rather than leaving it alone for later. We also know that Schwartz is an alias, according to his stats, but his real name isn’t known at this point since Schwartz covered it up in fear of being embarrassed. What could be more embarrassing than a name like Schwartz? Well, we won’t know what it is right now since a giant portal in the sky arrives to spoil our fun.
Overall, it’s no surprise that “Armor that Moves” is unlike any side-quest from an RPG game. It offers plenty of hilarity as our reward, with the main highlights being Jinguji arguing with Tachibana in front of Vizzd and Schwartz’s reaction to Tachibana’s true identity. More importantly, it’s not as tedious as retrying the same challenge more than a thousand times. The action doesn’t add anything new to the table, but it’s well-balanced with its enjoyable satire and the banter between the main characters.
