English Dub Review: I’m Quitting Heroing “If You Want to Quit, Talk It Out First”

Overview:

There’s nothing wrong with quitting a job if it’s not a good fit. But one must make sure that it’s the best move for them and not something they’ll eventually regret.

Our Take:

In this episode, we got to focus on Melnes a lot. I’m unsure if this is a case of a girl being mistaken for a boy or if they really are a guy. The wiki for this show says they are a guy and that isn’t exactly new for an anime so who knows as we go further.

Ultimately though, their gender isn’t the important part, it’s the fact that they want to quit being a general. Essentially Melnes has no social skills and has to teach some of their subordinates as a group. This makes Melnes uncomfortable and they feel unfit to be a leader. Leo gives them some training by having them work at a restaurant.

This goes well enough but some rowdy customers force Melnes to reveal themselves and let me tell you it was badass. It was the best fight scene the show has done so far. But the best part is that Melnes learned how to observe others and this led them to observe Leo. Melnes reveals they know that Leo isn’t here for the reasons he says he is. What could his reasons be?
