English Dub Review: Don’t Hurt Me, My Healer! “The first dungeon Alvin tackles with Carla is designed for…”
Overview:
Alvin and his party tackle their first dungeon. This one is specifically made for beginners, but it still proves to be challenging.
Our Take:
It’s no secret that Alvin is a terrible adventurer, but I didn’t think he was this bad. Him and his party tackle a dungeon made for beginners. It’s revealed that he’s Level 100, but his stats are pathetic. He’s just pathetic himself. He falls into obvious traps and can’t do anything right. I get that it’s supposed to be funny, but the joke didn’t hit me the first time and repeating it only makes it worse.
Carla honestly has a couple of moments in the episode that made me chuckle. She’s not growing on me as a character, but I will admit that I have some soft spots for her banter with Alvin. She’s not as annoying in this episode at least.
I like the idea of a beginner’s dungeon in theory, but there are some aspects I don’t like. For example, I’m really not a fan of the dungeon master. He falls for Carla’s ruse very easily and he’s meant to be a big monster who runs this dungeon. I might be taking this too seriously, but I can’t help it when these things don’t click.
Overall, the humor continues to miss more than it hits. I can’t get behind Alvin, especially now that I know he’s been adventuring for so long and hasn’t improved at all. I understand that it’s the point of the character and the show, but this brand of humor just continues to miss.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
