English Dub Review: Classroom of the Elite “Every failure is a step to success.”

Overview:

Ayanokoji brings Kushida, whom he suspects of being a traitor, to observe the other classes alongside Horikita. When the day of the festival arrives, Team Red pulls into the lead with great performances by Horikita and Sudo, but Ayanokoji merely watches with disinterest…

Our Take:

The sports festival was off to a good start, the red team was off to a considerable lead. But then things started to go wrong for them. A traitor must have leaked who they had going in certain events, allowing the other team to plan accordingly. But WHO is the traitor? He seems to think it might be Kushida but then why wouldn’t he do anything to stop the problem?

When it comes to Ayanokoji I just always assume that he knows best and I am dumb. I’ve just started to understand that he will almost always be 1-5 steps ahead of everyone. I know that he views everyone just as tools to be used but his feelings towards Horikita confuse me. On one hand, he is definitely using her but it feels like he has an interest in her at least as a friend. But he is doing nothing to help her currently, she keeps getting screwed over and I hope that changes soon. She’s just misunderstood in my eyes.
