Netflix Releases English Dubbed Trailer For Tekken: Bloodline

In a new trailer released by Netflix and after not hearing for several months, we finally get a release date for the newly announced Tekken anime series “Tekken: Bloodline” which is soon to come to Netflix in August 18th, 2022.

The trailer along with the date is confirmed within the video.

Our Take

As a longtime fan of this franchise since my early teens, I’ve wondered if they’d ever make an anime adaptation that retells the events of Tekken 3. Yet at the same time, I’m shocked that they’d go as far as to add new characters from Tekken 7 into the mix such as the Wing Chun master Leroy Smith whose concept & design give off Blaxploitation/Wu-Tang Clan vibes.

Many of the character designs, if not all, also feel updated from Tekken 7 with the exception of a few that seem to work on a narrative level. While it’s been announced that this is a series, it’s unclear how many episodes this will be and currently, there’s no list of who’s doing the English Dub other than Tekken’s longtime producer Katsuhiro Harada being closely involved with the anime’s production.
