English Dub Review: Tomodachi Game “What’s Most Important to Me Is…”

Overview:

With the circumstances around Shiho’s disappearance and Shibe’s arrest still unclear, a mysterious individual declares a new game that demands Yuichi’s participation and threatens Yutori’s life. When Yuichi rushes to save Yutori, he becomes trapped in the cruelest game yet. The two friends must decide how much pain they can endure protecting each other as the special edition “Weak Win Game” begins.

Our Take:

Oh my, what an ending, if you can call it that. This could definitely end up being one of those “read the manga” endings and if it is I am not a fan. This was a really good survival game show and I would love to see more but as of now, we aren’t getting anything confirmed. Which honestly might change how I review this season as a whole.

I really don’t know what to think about Yuichi. It’s clear he is unhinged to a certain degree yet still values his friends more than money. Which is the opposite of what a lot of his flashbacks make us think. These characters are interesting and seeing Yuichi go so far for Yutori was a bit of a surprise but we might just have to read the manga. I already got a huge backlog but I might have to start reading this one because for better or worse it was really intriguing.
